I am trying to record stuff to CD from my hi-fi(vinyl and some FM concerts from tape)and despite reducing the Line In volume the played back recording is very noisy with a fast tick-ticking sound which appears not to be linked to volume level.I'm using the Adaptec Spin Doctor software on a Windows 98 233MHz PC with 128Mb of RAM.I've tried shutting down other background programmes but the problem persists.My machine has a nothing special Soundblaster 16 compatible soundcard.Any ideas?Thanks.Mike.
